the geneva drive
at the heart is a geneva wheel running on a micro ball-bearing atop a swiss sapphire jewel bearing, driving a crystal clear water-jet-cut polycarbonate gear. the disks numbers are fully cut through, and can be filled with colorado-made noctilumina lume, if you don't want to modify the module with your own tritium tubes. the hours are 3mm tall while the minutes; 2.5mm. they're sized so each disk lens's focal length converts to the same final size through the glass. every part is machined to my drawings, then hand-finished and assembled at my bench with you in the loop on development for your assigned month.
the bedside object
a bed of pins rising from the solid steel base keep it suspended at ~38 degrees for ideal viewing on a desk or bedside stand. how does the steel not scratch it? type 3 anodizing. with GTLS tube modification this becomes the best little bedside clock you've ever had. every time you set your watch down for the evening, you'll hear the ring of steel pins before you nod off under the faint glow of your watch.
the case
case, caseback, and internals are machined from 7075 aluminum and hard anodized — the case and caseback in the same bath so the color matches exactly. the caveat? i have never been able to make the same color twice. all of this comes together at just under 52 grams of total weight for a complete watch and it dusts off would be scratches like a champ.
the integrated strap
i cut 1000d cordura and hand laminate it over a tpu 88a internal bone i designed that is then heat set for a final bond. then either a hook and loop or my own handmade stainless steel ghook system is sewn in with durable wax thread. finally i apply an internal synthetic alcantera or genuine leather lining to finish it.
